Tired of biased game reviews? Fair Play Reviews uses real player data to deliver honest, industry-influence-free gaming reviews. Find games worth playing.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been burned before. You see the glowing 9/10 reviews, buy the game, and then realize a few hours in that you’ve been sold a polished demo or something that’s more interested in lecturing you than being fun.

You aren't alone, and that’s exactly why I started Fairplay Reviews.

The Problem with Modern Game Reviews

Let’s be honest about the industry right now. "Access journalism" has made it hard to trust major review sites. It’s tough to be objective when your early access codes and ad revenue come from the same publishers you’re supposed to be critiquing.

We’ve all seen the gap between what critics say and what actual players think. That disconnect ends up costing us real time and money. I think we need reviews that prioritize the player experience over publisher relationships.

How we do things differently

Fairplay Reviews cuts through the noise by actually listening to players. We don't rely on personal opinions or industry connections. Instead, the site aggregates and analyzes player data to find the themes people are actually talking about.

If a game has a great story or challenging gameplay, the tags will show it. If it’s a pay-to-win mess or feels half-finished, we’ll tell you that too.

Why this matters

You work hard for your money. Whether it’s a £60 AAA title or a smaller indie game, you deserve to know what you’re actually getting. My goal is to help you see past the marketing budgets and avoid the hype traps.

I’ve also built a tag system so you can find games based on what you actually like. Whether you want a deep narrative, a high difficulty level, or just want to avoid microtransactions, you can filter for that before you buy.

Whats next

This is a passion project for me. I’m building this because I’m tired of being misled, and I know a lot of you feel the same way. I’m currently working on expanding our coverage to consoles and making the search tools even better.

Since this site is built for you, I’m always open to feedback. If you have ideas for features or games you want covered, just reach out.

No sponsors, no access journalism, and no fluff. Just honest reviews based on what real players are saying.

Common Questions

How do you keep things unbiased?

We base everything on aggregated player data. By looking at what thousands of people are saying ion player reviews, we get a much more accurate picture than any single critic could give. Everyone has their own bias, of course. But the "majority bias" of thousands of players usually gets you a lot closer to the truth than one person's opinion.

What makes this different from other sites?

We’re completely independent. I don't accept early codes or publisher money. The tags reflect genuine player sentiment, not industry politics.

Can I request a game?

Definitely. This site exists for the community, so if there is a game you want to see analyzed, let me know and I’ll prioritize it. We're currently slowly adding games daily to build the site so we very much are a work in progress right now

Do you cover all platforms?

I’m working on it. Right now we’re heavy on PC since Steam is so open with their data. Nintendo is the main exception - there are a few hurdles to clear there, but I’ve got a plan to get those added soon.

Since most games are basically the same on console and PC (usually - looking at you, Monster Hunter Wilds), I think it’s a solid foundation to build from.

Here's a pixel dog as a reward for getting this far :)
